ColdLane provides estimates to help you plan shipments of temperature-sensitive goods. It does not guarantee that any item will remain safe to eat, use or sell.
What the numbers are based on
- Weather forecasts, which change and become less certain further ahead.
- Typical or historical carrier transit times, which vary with customs, weather, strikes, volumes and handling.
- A simplified model of how packaging holds temperature. Real parcels are affected by how they are packed, handled, stacked, stored and left on a doorstep.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for the safety and quality of what you ship, for complying with food-safety, hazardous-goods (including dry ice) and carrier rules, and for any decision to ship, hold or refund. Do not rely on ColdLane as the only safeguard. Where in doubt, ship earlier in the week, use more coolant, or do not ship.
Alerts
Delay alerts depend on carrier tracking data being available and accurate. Alerts can be late, missing or wrong. Absence of an alert does not mean a parcel is safe.
Evidence packs
Evidence packs compile the information we hold. They are not legal, insurance or accounting advice, and we cannot promise any carrier or insurer will accept a claim.
